The Real World: Wilmington

This is the true story … of four family members … who chose to move to the south … live together and have their lives blogged … to find out what happens … when people stop being polite … and start having babies … The Real World: Wilmington.

We made our first trip to the beach as a family of four. Hopefully we have another beach baby on our hands. It was great getting back to the beach and enjoying the beautiful day together.

Getting to Know Miles November 20, 2010

We celebrated Miles’ 1 month birthday on November 12th.  It really doesn’t feel like a month has gone by, it feels more like time has stood still since his arrival. Maybe that’s because we’ve been so busy getting to know him and learning how to best care for two kids, which is no easy task!  I feel like we are starting to get into a routine and the chaos and overwhelming feelings that we felt when first being home with our two little ones are lessening. Each day brings new challenges and new joys and despite the difficult times I feel really lucky to be able to be home to take care of my babies.

Celebrating 1 month at Red Robin, a family tradition

Now, back to Miles, he’s long and lean, actually had a little trouble putting on weight at first, but it seems we are now in the clear because he packed on 6 ounces in 4 days a while back! Hopefully he’ll continue to put some meat on those bones, especially his skinny little legs.

Miles spends a lot of time sleeping, during the day at least, and a lot of time eating. He is thankfully getting more content living outside of my belly because his crying has subsided in a huge way. Jamie and I were wondering how in the world we were going to remain sane at first because if he was awake he was crying! He still has his moments, but we are usually able to calm him down. He loves movement and being held.

We have been blessed with another happy, healthy and sweet baby. I’ve been eating up the few precious smiles he’s thrown my way lately. We look forward watching his personality emerge over the months and enjoying every stage that he goes through!

First Haircut November 18, 2010

We took Elly to get her first haircut and she did great! She loved eating her lollipop and watching Clifford on TV while the hairdresser gave her golden locks a trim. I’m sure she’ll be excited whenever it’s time to go back!

First Bath November 14, 2010

Miles doesn’t love bath time yet, but we were able to capture some photos before he decided that he was clean enough and wanted out of that tub!

Trick-or-Treat November 13, 2010

Elly had a blast trick-or-treating this year with her cousins. It was so fun watching our fairy princess enjoy the traditions of Halloween.

Our sweet giraffe slept through most of the festivities but I know before we know it he’ll be joining in on the fun. For now though, we are loving all of the cuddles he gives us.

Pumpkin Time November 1, 2010

Despite the new chaos that comes with adjusting to life with two kids we were able to manage some fun pre-Halloween activities. Having my Mom’s extra set of hands around helped for sure!

Elly got all dressed up in her fairy princess costume and enjoyed an orange rice krispie treat while watching ‘The Great Pumpkin’. She was excited to see Snoopy because Jamie has a Peanuts record that she loves to listen to.

Our little arteest used paint brushes and fingers to paint her pumpkins. I have loved displaying her pumpkins and all her fall art projects from school this year.  I’m a proud Mama!

While Jamie drew his jack-o-lantern plan on his pumpkin Elly drew on her own pumpkin. Luckily she didn’t insist that Jamie carve her creative design.

We went to a Halloween party at our old neighbors place downtown. Elly loved her goodie bag, especially the Snoopy and creepy glasses that she didn’t want to take off despite hardly being able to see! Miles stayed snuggly tucked into the ‘sleepy wrap’ during the whole party.
