We had Christmas in our own home for the first time, does that make us real live grown ups yet? Santa most definitely came to our house (he also stayed up until almost 2am wrapping and building presents). Elly entered the family room Christmas morning, bypassed the new wagon and baby doll stroller, and went straight for her new cozy coupe. Throughout the morning she attempted to open a present here and there  and rummaged through her stocking a bit, but continued to be repeatedly distracted by her new ride.

We hosted Christmas dinner for the first time, that MUST make us grown ups. We had never dealt with cooking a turkey before.  Luckily my Mom washed it for me and took out all the gross stuff. All I had to do was pop it in the oven. I was slightly worried about somehow messing this up, probably because earlier in the week I had purchased a turkey that was past its sell-by date. I didn’t realize this until the night of December 23rd. My Mom was kind enough to return the turkey on the 24th (yes, Harris Teeter took it back) which they exchanged for the one and only fresh turkey that was left. It was a 20 pounder, way bigger than what we needed, but at least we had a turkey!

I really enjoy holidays these days and I owe that to my sweet husband and baby girl, thanks you two.
