We traveled up to Northern Virginia to celebrate Thanksgiving and stayed the whole week so that we’d have more time to visit with family and friends. Traveling with our little lady and our big lab is somewhat of a production but we are getting used to lots of luggage and plentiful pit stops. We have a CR-V so we fill the back with stuff then Otis and Elly sit in the backseat, also surrounded by more stuff. I am getting close to breaking down and buying a portable DVD player for Elly in the hopes that she will be more entertained on long drives. On the trip up she only slept an hour and it took around 7 hours to get there. Sometimes pacifiers help to calm her down but she has a habit of flinging them then they become very hard to find from the front seat. She also likes one particular children’s cd, but there’s only so much of that we can take!
Apparently there was only so much Elly could take when it came to being asked to pose next to the turkey on Thanksgiving.

We spent part of the week with Gram and the other part with Grandma and Grandpa. Elly had a great time at both houses! Thanks for your hospitality, good meals and accommodations for Elly.
We continue to have so much to be thankful for, especially our friends, family and health.
The Real World: Wilmington 
The picture of Elly with the turkey is too funny. I fully support the portable dvd player! We broke down & got one when Sam was 16 mo. for long drives. I also recommend the Laurie Berkner DVD, it is just music videos & the songs aren’t quite as obnoxious.
For the record, Elly and the turkey weighed the same this year.
